Q1.今の仕事内容教えてください。

My main work is to translate administrative documents into English for foreign RIKEN personnel. We receive a variety of translation jobs from different administrative sections. Besides translation work, I am also involved in creating a monthly English internal newsletter.

Q2. なぜこの会社にご入社されましたでしょうか。

Being bilingual and bicultural, I have always wanted to work at a place where I could support people from overseas. I had heard of RIKEN before and I was impressed with the research they produced and wanted to be part of an organization working to benefit society. 

Q3. お仕事の醍醐味を教えてください。

I am able to become the mediator between Japan and foreign personnel in which you can support their work as well as help them settle into Japan and RIKEN. In addition, working with people from different backgrounds gives me a broader outlook.  

Q4. 所属部門についての雰囲気や働き方について教えてください。

Our section has a very friendly atmosphere where it is easy to settle into. Staff can communicate in both English and Japanese and our meetings are conducted in English. Working in a team you always have other translators you can consult with. 

Q5. 自社の自慢を教えてください。

With approximately 600 foreign researchers, there is an international atmosphere at RIKEN. There are various support systems and its many recreational events create a warm and supportive environment.
