High-speed communication technology: the key to IoT

In the IoT era where everything is connected to the Internet, the question is how to transmit large amounts of data in a short amount of time, and how to transmit stably without being hindered by noise. Seedea is in charge of designing, developing and evaluating the reliability of next-generation communication technologies that have not yet been released.

Public System Development

Social infrastructure systems with a high level of public utility require stable operation and high reliability without malfunctions. Seedea supports the ever-evolving social systems with its advanced technological capabilities, including large-scale embedded development of railway transportation systems and energy monitoring systems essential for smart grids.

CMOS image sensor (CIS) development

Image sensors are used in smartphones, digital cameras, face recognition systems, autonomous driving, etc., and demand is set to accelerate in the future. Signal processing technology for images captured with high sensitivity and ultra-low noise is required for image sensors. Seedea's technical capabilities are utilized in the circuit design/verification and performance evaluation of these CIS, which require particularly careful handling.

In the near future, Japan will face a serious problem of a rapid decline in the population involved in manufacturing. As the working population declines, young people are increasingly turning away from science and engineering, and securing a workforce is becoming a major management issue for companies. In response to these market changes, Seedea has been targeting areas with many young workers, such as China and the Philippines, for a long time and has been expanding its business there. For example, the average age of Japan's productive population is 45.2 years old. Meanwhile, the average age in the Philippines is 23 years old. In order to make the most of overseas labor, future engineers will need to hone their management skills. We have also begun training engineers who can have broad global connections and interact with people across borders.

Usually, engineers can get the work they want by transferring or changing jobs to an area where there is work. Seedia has taken the complete opposite approach and is creating development bases that bring together talented people from each region by bringing work to where there are engineers. Following the Osaka Design Center in 2016, the Fukuoka Design Center was opened the following year, creating a system in which engineers can focus on design and development work in a favorable environment. Evaluation System

Once a year, we award the most outstanding engineers. We conduct a customer CS evaluation based on the problem-solving performance, and as a result, we select the top engineers for customer evaluation, and the top engineers for internal evaluation based on daily work performance and performance. We select the best engineers based on all the performance and award them. Regardless of role or age, everyone has the opportunity to take on various challenges in a relaxed manner.

Suggestion System

Every year, those who wish to do so make a presentation on the issues to our company's management team, who then make a decision on the spot. Various proposals have been made so far, including rule revisions and incentives, and the company is currently run based on the systems and benefits that were proposed and approved at the meeting.
