Job Description 【Position Overview】
The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for consulting with designated business leaders to develop an understanding of the business unit success strategy, assess and prioritize learning and development initiatives that align with and help accelerate the execution of the business unit success strategy. Once initiatives are approved, the Learning & Development Specialist will work with their colleagues in the L&D organization to manage the design, development, and implementation of learning solutions for targeted global employee populations.
Specifically, this position will analyze the needs of target audiences to build training curriculum and programs such as new hire on-boarding, product releases, and professional development. S/he will lead a structured series of alignment meetings with the appropriate HR Business Partners, Learning Partners and other key stakeholders as required to assess, design, develop, implement and evaluate learning solutions that align with business needs and objectives. S/he will perform program and project management for all of the above to ensure customer timeline, cost and quality expectations are met or exceeded. The Learning & Development Specialist will collaborate with SMEs in the project teams and other areas of the business, in order to create content and leverage all appropriate resources necessary for the success of the business. by working closely with the business, the Learning & Development Specialist will work to define and establish success metrics to track each project to ensure that each meets its success criteria.

The successful candidate for this position will bring the following minimum skills, knowledge and capabilities to this position

> Subject matter expert-level knowledge (minimum of 5 years’ work-related experience) in:
-Deep understanding of the sales and services lines of business
-Business consulting in the areas of sales and services
-Adult learning principles
-Client relationship management principles & strategies
-Conducting needs analysis
-Conducting impact analysis and “after action reviews”
-Project/program management skills, able to devise appropriate timelines and dependencies across multiple tasks.
-Verbal and written communications, with emphasis on creating concise executive communications
-Presentation skills with experience in both virtual and face-to-face training
-Ability to influence key stakeholders without positional authority at all levels of the enterprise
> Practitioner-level knowledge (3+years’ work-related experience) of:
-Learning Management Systems
-Computer skills, proficient in Excel & PowerPoint, Captivate; confident user of virtual collaboration tools
-Handling multiple projects simultaneously
-Simplifying and streamlining presentations and written tools for multiple user audiences
-Foundational Instructional Design/Course Design Principles (ADDIE)
-Determine success criteria for each project and translate them into metrics that can be analyzed by business intelligence and financial performance management software.
> Bachelor’s degree, in Business, Instructional Technology or related discipline
> Minimum 10 years overall work experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a learning & development role.

【Desired Competencies】
Exceptionally qualified candidates will have experience in the following areas:

> Experience in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of sales and service learning & development programs
> Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Organizational Psychology or equivalent, in addition to Business or Sales degree.
> Experience in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of global programs, including cultural alignment and language translation. Bilingual (Japanese & English) preferred
