Job Description You will develop and maintain an effective internal control system based on standards like Japan's Personal Information Protection Law, ISO27001, and ITIL, while regularly assessing risks. Additionally, you'll handle security maintenance, monitoring, incident response, and employee awareness training, working closely with the global security team when needed. Good technical background is needed.


Description

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Cybersecurity Lead to join our Japan office. In this role, you will play a key part in executing and maintaining cybersecurity operations in alignment with both global security standards and Japan's local compliance requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day threat monitoring, incident response, and security infrastructure support, while collaborating closely with the global security team and internal stakeholders across departments.

This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment and is passionate about safeguarding digital assets and customer trust.

Lead and manage local cybersecurity operations, ensuring systems, networks, and data are secured against internal and external threats.

Monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity incidents; perform root cause analysis and coordinate incident handling with the global SOC.

Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify risk exposures; follow up with remediation and prevention strategies.
*

Work with IT and Engineering teams to implement secure configurations, patches, and infrastructure changes in line with corporate policies.
*

Maintain and manage endpoint protection, network security devices (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS), and security event logging systems.
*

Support regulatory and compliance needs in Japan, including coordination with legal and compliance teams to address data privacy and security-related requirements.
*

Conduct security awareness sessions and provide training to internal employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
*

Assist in local implementation of global security policies, and tailor them as needed for the Japan market.


Profile

MUST

* Chinese Language (Fluent or above level)
* English or Japanese skill
* Hands-on experience in cybersecurity
* Strong knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and/or incident response.
* Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO27001, NIST, etc.
* Experience working with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and/or threat intelligence platforms.

Desired:

* Financial services or fintech environment experience
