■Recruitment Background The company is developing services using ChatGPT, and has developed cutting-edge services in the area of Generative AI, including being featured as one of the three leading examples of Generative AI at Microsoft's Azure AI Day. BOTCHAN AI, the new service, has been growing rapidly since its release, and the number of companies that have adopted BOTCHAN has exceeded 600 companies in total, mainly in the D2C industry. In April 2023, the company raised a total of 2 billion yen in funding, and is looking for an engineering manager to further enhance its performance as a team. If you are considering VPoE as your future career, or if you are "interested in building an organization" or "want to test your abilities", please apply! ■Responsibilities In the development team of "BOTCHAN Payment" (*), which has a chat payment function, you will be involved in development practice and the following tasks, with a focus on project management. ・Manage project progress in collaboration with Customer Success team ・Identification and resolution of issues in incident flow/development process to improve development productivity ・Chatbot development/operation/maintenance, etc. (including code review) ・1-on-1 and personnel evaluations In the future, you will be assigned to the following tasks. ・Implement measures to maximize member performance ・Maintenance and improvement of the evaluation system ・Organizational design and recruitment with a view to product growth *What is "BOTCHAN Payment"? It is a "Payment Chat Form" that maximizes CVR and LTV. ■Language used The company's products are mainly back-end development using Node.js. The initial phase of BOTCHAN was developed using JavaScript (Node.js) + PHP (Laravel) to operate the service. However, since TypeScript is clearly more efficient than JavaScript when developing services with more than a few dozen developers, the company changed its main language to TypeScript a few years ago. Currently, TypeScript (React, Node.js, Nest.js) is used on the Japan side and the offshore side is still using the initial phase of the technology stack. They are currently planning a full rearchitecture to T3Stack and will reconfigure the service with TypeScript (Next.js) as the core. New services are basically developed in TypeScript (Next.js). Only the AI part of BOTCHAN AI uses Python. Languages used (frameworks) Backend: JavaScript(Node.js,JQuery),TypeScript(Node.js, Nest.js), PHP(Laravel) Front-end: JavaScript(JQuery),TypeScript(React,Next.js) AI: Python Cloud infrastructure: Azure Database: MongoDB, AtlasDB Analysis infrastructure: Zoho Analytics, BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage CI: Github Actions Source code management: GitHub Monitoring: Datadog, Sentry, New Relic UI/UX : Figma Backlog management : Backlog, JIRA Communication : Slack, Notion, miro, Zoom ■About the Engineering Organization - Currently, there are about 55 engineers in the company. - Although the ratio of offshore engineers in Vietnam is still high, the company is actively recruiting engineers in order to increase the number of areas of in-house production. Japan team (including Tokyo headquarters, Okinawa, Osaka, and regional remote offices): approx. 20 Vietnam offshore team: Approx. 30 ■Working Style of Engineers The basic working style is a flexible work schedule with core hours (11:30~15:30). Most engineers start work around 9:00~10:00. - Average overtime for engineers is about 20 hours per month. those who do not work overtime at all. i.g. Those who work almost no overtime in order to focus on their private life Those who work overtime to focus on their own growth and career. - There are many engineers who are raising children, and they are flexible to leave work in the middle of the day or finish work early to pick up their children. Work is evaluated based on output, not working hours. - The company system allows full remote work, so there are many engineers who work full remotely from rural areas. - The company system also allows [side jobs], and about 20% of engineers have a side job. ■Evaluation System Evaluations are conducted once a half year (March/September), and salaries are revised accordingly. In the past, 20%~30% of all engineers have received a raise at the time of evaluation. ■Team Culture Members mostly work flexibly, including local work and full remote work.
