Job Description Position Name: Counsel/Senior Counsel Full-time employment
Major duties

The location of this position is Tokyo

This position will report to the APAC General Counsel, who will then report to the Deputy General Counsel (Global)
Advise on legal issues relating to contractual and commercial matters, government and regulatory laws
Review negotiations of commercial agreements with internal and external stakeholders
Manage customer, vendor, employment-related disputes or other disputes relating to the company
Advise management and HR on employment issues
Guide and assist business units on legal and regulatory requirements
Respond to ad-hoc inquiries, including identifying, analyzing and assessing risks to provide appropriate legal solutions
Work closely with other lawyers within the organization and coordinate legal matters handled by external counsel
Work with regional and global compliance and ethics teams to identify common concerns and reach common goals Establish standards and educate the company on local best practices
Work with legal, internal audit and HR as necessary to investigate allegations of unethical conduct or other violations of Infosys policies, recommend appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective actions, and ensure such actions are implemented promptly
Other duties as directed

[Qualifications and Education]
Law degree from a recognized university in Japan
5+ years of legal experience, preferably with in-house counsel or a law firm
In-depth knowledge of Japanese law, not limited to the IT industry
Foreign lawyers welcome
Japanese attorney qualification not required

[Required Skills]
Ability to read, write and speak English and Japanese (N1 level)
In-depth knowledge of Japanese law and general corporate law experience related to contracts, not limited to the IT industry. Knowledge of employment and regulatory law is a plus

Strong leadership skills and the ability to quickly gain the trust of clients

Mature and strong leadership skills, with the ability to direct and influence colleagues

Practical and creative problem analysis and solving skills

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work as necessary to meet business needs

Respond to the needs and questions of internal and external business clients
