1. Please tell us briefly about your work
We are headquartered in the United States and have branches around the world. We provide products and services for the foodservice and hospitality industry. Our products include the world's first fully automatic pancake machine, high quality European toppings, and 100% natural honeycomb. We are a B to B company, but we provide products with the end-user in mind, so our service system and ease of use of our products are customer-centered. My job is currently focused on sales and administration. I'm very busy with the processes of setting up the Japan office and doing lots of demonstrations. Sales have suddenly appeared and this keeps me extra busy.2. Why did you decide to work at Peachtree Foods Japan? (What's the best thing about working here?)
I was attracted to the world's first fully automatic pancake machine and felt it has great potential for the Japanese market. In fact, when I saw it in use at a hotel in Australia, I was very impressed by how happy all the guests using it were. In Japan, there are many hotels and buffet restaurants, so I saw how much potential this machine has in Japan. Also, since the company's headquarters is in the U.S., it is an excellent opportunity to make use of my English skills in a global company while using my knowledge of my home country to help the company grow in Japan. With the office newly established, we are starting with a small team, so I see lots of potential for advancement.
3. Please tell us about your (international) team and work environment.
We currently have three full-time employees and a contracted consultant, as well as the CEO. Our diverse team that has worked hard at setting up the Japan branch office has a half-Peruvian sales manager who has lived in Japan for over 30 years, a half-Australian financial manager, a Japanese sales manager and an Australian consultant. The CEO is also Australian and is moving from our Hong Kong office to run the Japan branch. We are a mix of younger and older. Everyone has much to offer the Japanese branch.
Although there are differences in age and background, the team works very close together and our work environment is full of laughter. We display great teamwork and can support each other as necessary.
We are looking for responsible, self-motivated individuals. Although we are a small team, each of us responsible for our own work, we are ready to assist other team members if required. We welcome people who are ready to take action to ensure that each person reaches their own goals while supporting the team. Communication skills, both internally and externally are also very important. We are looking for people who have native Japanese proficiency and good English skills. We welcome those who are motivated even if they lack experience in sales or office work.
