Job Description ★ Responsible for the development of new platform socket products and report directly to the Socket Platform Team Manager.
★ Work closely with internal teams such as sales, product managers (PM), system architecture, manufacturing process development engineers (MPDE), etc., to create optimal and competitive new platform designs.
★ Frequently communicate directly with customers to gather detailed product requirements and provide important technical information. Customers may be located in the US, China, or other countries.
★ Generate new platform product concepts based on the technology roadmap, customer input, manufacturing constraints, and cost targets. Products often require adaptation of new product technologies, process technologies, or materials.
★ Execute new product development projects following new product and technology development processes. Create deliverables such as design concepts, simulations, PRD (Product Requirement Documents), DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), etc.
★ Perform concept design and feasibility studies, design review meetings, documentation, and release/archive drawings, specifications, and necessary technical documents.
★ Lead technical problem-solving and manage design and technical changes.
★ Conduct prototype testing, implement feasible technical proposals, problem-solving, and suggest new solutions. Solutions will be demonstrated via simulations, physical samples, or specialized technical reports.
★ Determine manufacturing deviations and make decisions regarding deviation acceptance.
★ Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) approval, process capability studies, 8D reports, and 5 WHY analyses.
★ Conduct regular technical reviews and reporting.
★ Provide technical support to customers and perform necessary tests and technical analyses.
★Coordinate work with customers, vendors, marketing, sales representatives, and other engineering departments.

Job
Requirements		 ★ A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, with at least 7-8 years of hands-on experience.
★ Experience in designing connectors for new products. Experience with socket-related products is preferred. Knowledge of fine-chip BTB or high-speed I/O connectors is a bonus.
★ Good knowledge of processes like molding, stamping, plating, and automatic assembly. Experience with small product manufacturing is a plus.
★ Strong understanding of materials, industry standards, and how products are used.
★ Knowledge of product testing, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests.
★ Experience with 3D CAD software like Creo (or similar tools).
★ Experience with FEA simulations and using ANSYS Mechanical.
★ Ability to analyze tolerances, including worst-case analysis and statistical risk assessments.
★ Basic knowledge of quality engineering methods, like gauge R&R, SPC, and QC flow.
★ Native-level Japanese skills (both speaking and writing) are a must. Intermediate English skills are okay.
★ Good at creating presentations using PowerPoint.
★ Skilled in using office tools like Excel and PowerPoint.
★ Able to solve complex technical problems.
★ Can work independently and also collaborate with a team. Able to prioritize tasks and communicate clearly.
