Job Description POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Bar Supervisor in providing quality service to all passengers as per company standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists Bar Supervisor in providing and monitoring quality service to all passengers as per company standards within their designated areas.
2. Responsible to ensure that all aspects of Responsible Service of Alcohol policies and procedures are both met and adhered to by passengers & fellow crew, within his/her designated area of responsibility.
3. Responsible to bring to his/her manager’s attention if a passenger has consumed excessive alcohol.
4. Responsible for maintaining the highest standards in:
• Passenger service
• USPH requirements
• Server selling skills and promotions
• Cashless cruising and the Point of Sale
• Bar routines and working schedules
5. Responsible for checking all aspects of lounge and bar set up including lighting, menus, table and chair set up, etc.
6. Maintains excellent stock control and supervision of all bar, food and general supplies used.
7. Carries out bar liquor and bar item stock counts, and prepares requisitions for bar stocks, liquor, foods, etc. as requested by the Bar Supervisor.
8. Responsible for the overall continuing cleanliness of the places of work and notifies the appropriate shipboard personnel of defects within any bar location
9. Assist with the loading and delivery of ship’s stores as required, and assist the Bar Supervisor in the management and administration of their respective bar and services.
10. To be capable of working in any other bar and bar food service area as may be scheduled to perform.

Working Hours Working hours usually 10-12 hours daily, depending on ship itinerary.
Duties will be assigned daily.
6 month contracts, 2 month vacation (unpaid)

Requirements
Bartenders must have minimum of 2 years bartending experience at a formal bar or fine hotels with exposure to most international brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Bartenders with formal certification in WSET Level 2 in Wines and Spirits preferred, experience in relevant beverage industry essential.

Bar Stewards must be well versed in all aspects of beverage service (wines, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages), established international brands of alcoholic drinks, as well as experience with tray service.

All bar staff should have comprehensive knowledge of drinks including cocktails, beers and wines, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Able to confidently describe flavours and tastes, recommends and make drinks for our guests.
