A recruitment consultant’s role is demanding and diverse, requiring sales, business development and marketing techniques in order to attract and develop business with clients companies. It is important to build relationships with clients, develop a good understanding of what client companies do and their work culture. Other parts of the job include, headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates, receiving and reviewing applications, preparing resumes, managing interviews and short-listing candidates. We then arrange interviews for the right candidates with our clients, inform candidates about the results of their interviews and prepare offer letters. Sometimes it is necessary to negotiate pay and salary rates in order to finalize arrangements between client and candidates. We would expect the person to be pro-active, diligent, self-managing with the potential to manage others, and most importantly have a positive attitude and outlook on life in general. Fluent English and business level Japanese is preferred but not mandatory.
