The Gerson Lehrman Group Councils are industry-focused networks of executives, physicians, scientists, engineers, attorneys, market researchers and other professionals from around the world. Members of the GLG Councils are compensated for consulting with global business and investment leaders on topics within their area of expertise. The GLG Councils are managed by Gerson Lehrman Group, an independent research firm serving institutional investors and business leaders. GLG was founded in 1998 by three gentlemen who were previously working in investment, consulting and journalism and who thought that research could be made far more effective. They began their business by publishing several industry guidebooks. When trying to sell the books to global mutual funds and hedge funds, the three discovered that rather than read their guides, institutional investors were more interested in speaking with the industry expert contributors. Speaking directly to hard-to-find experts allowed investors a private interaction that could be tailored to their particular questions. Thus was born Gerson Lehrman Group and its global network of industry professionals and experts--the Gerson Lehrman Group Councils. Today, GLG provides research to its clients not by writing reports but by compensating over 100,000 expert members of the GLG Councils to consult with GLG clients over the phone, in person, or via online surveys. Earn Consulting Fees – Council Members are paid an honorarium, at a rate they set, for all consultations. Educate Professionals Shaping Your Industry – Council Members provide consulting through telephone consultations, online surveys and in-person meetings. Convenience – Council Members may accept or decline any project based on their availability or ability to consult on a particular topic. Networking – Members can engage in educational and dynamic exchanges with influential business and investment leaders. Privacy and Integrity – Personal Member information is kept confidential and never sold to a third party. Council Members are not asked to comment on their company or employer; rather, they are invited to discuss general industry trends or specific products and services within their area of expertise. Council Members may only accept consultations on topics they are comfortable with and permitted to discuss. Membership is free

Participation: All participation in research activities is completely optional; members have no required obligations. A new member can expect to give approximately one hour of time per month to consulting and related activities, and participation may increase or decrease depending on advisor availability and interest. Honorarium: Members of GLG Councils are paid generously and promptly for participating in various independent research programs and activities. Payment requests are received through Gerson Lehrman Group’s secure internet-based invoicing system, may be made to individuals or organizations, and are typically received within one week of participation.
