Position Summary: Eurofins Accounting and Finance Manager (Tax & General Accounting) ◼ Reporting to the Finance Director of Eurofins Japan, you will be responsible for leading a team within the Finance department, overseeing several functional areas, providing technical guidance for the overall finance and leading the transformation initiative to the target "best in class" organization. ◼ Act as a liaison with the Global Tax team and participate in global tax related initiatives as required. Job Description and Responsibilities: - Primarily responsible for managing tax, cash management, revenue recognition, fixed assets and payroll accounting. • Expected to act as a hands-on manager to execute the actual day-to-day operations as required. • Manage approximately 5 staff. • Serve as a source of technical guidance for the entire finance. • Preparation of monthly P/L and B/S based on IFRS and company requirements, especially in areas such as revenue recognition, payroll accounting, fixed assets and tax. • Cash Management Function - Handles cash management, cash flow forecasting, NWC management, and operational cash and investment financing. • Lead/support completion of monthly/quarterly reporting packages to HQ in collaboration with Financial Controlling & Reporting team. • Handle audits by external and internal auditors. • Lead financial process improvement, integration of new companies and compliance with all internal control/audit requirements. • Work effectively with FP&A team on various tasks like budget vs actual reporting, expense processing, CAPEX management, payroll and headcount analysis and special requests from local management and HQ. • Active role in implementation of new ERP system and standardized processes • Handle ad hoc requests from global/regional offices. • Provide mentoring/training to staff and promote a culture of change/growth. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: <Tax> ▪ Act as a liaison to the Global Tax team and participate in global tax related initiatives as required ▪ Tax accounting ▪ Preparation of tax returns (coordination with vendors) ▪ Tax audits ▪ Handle business enquiries <Fixed Assets> ▪ Responsible for fixed asset related accounting and tax including CAPEX/OPEX accounting, depreciation, leases, asset inventory, ARO, LHI etc. ▪ Work closely with finance team and business stakeholders to ensure proper protocols are followed with regards to CAPEX management <Payroll> ▪ Preparation of monthly accounting entries related to payroll and other personnel costs ▪ Work closely with HR Payroll team to ensure accurate and proper reporting of personnel costs <Revenue> ▪ Revenue recognition as per Eurofins policy under IFRS ▪ Work closely with finance team and business stakeholders to ensure client contracts are reviewed in a timely manner for assessment of appropriate revenue recognition methodology <Finance> ▪ Preparation of cash management and cash flow forecasts across group companies ▪ Make fund requests to Global Treasury for timely replenishment of working capital and investments for business expansion ▪ Payment processing and other related duties ▪ Support improvement of the business's net working capital (DSO/DPO) This position will enable the candidate to: • Gain hands-on experience to apply and enhance their technical knowledge of Finance • Gain in-depth understanding of working in a dynamic global atmosphere across a range of business sectors • Potential for future rotation to other teams in Finance based on the candidate's skills and performance. • Gain experience in a team driving the transformation towards a "best practice" Finance organization |
