The Senior Consultant functions as a core member of the commercial team, playing a dual role in both the Commercial/Business Development/Sales and Research/Analysis sides of our business.
Working with our sales team and clients directly, the Senior Consultant is to leverage our depth and breadth of research and capabilities into high value sales and business opportunities. While not a direct sales role, the successful candidate will have a high degree of sales acumen, the ability to interact with C-level executives, along with broad technical expertise in the technology value chain.
This role requires a high degree of initiative to understand where the most value can be generated with customers and how to work most effectively with all the IHS Markit stakeholders.
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, or industry-related fields required
•Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technology consultant, researcher or research consumer focusing on the technology markets. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial roles within the technology industry. Track record of extensive and successful interactions with customers in a range of situations. Will consider any equivalent combination of experience and education.
•In-depth Knowledge and Sr. Analyst Experience in one or more areas (SBL) of IHS Markit Technology
•Project Management Skills and comfortable to lead 100k$ consulting projects
•Personality to engage with Executive and VP level industry leaders
•Project acquisition and client relations. The Consultant shall interact with clients and leads to identify business request, sizing the budget and creating opportunities. Based on the requests, he/she shall craft proposals and interact with IHS Sales to present the proposals to the clients
•Business Development, Strategic Planning with Consulting and Sector Leaders of IHS Markit Technology. Together with the Consulting Director, the Consultant shall help to develop a strategic business concept, marketing and sales actions for IHS Markit Technology. Together with the Consulting Director and the R&A Groups, the consultant shall develop business growth strategies for dedicated R&A teams targeting 10-15% growth in 2018
•The Consultant shall support the Consulting Director on all Business activities in IHS Markit Technology and other IHS business units. Specifically, the consultant will support and be measured on meeting the consulting target of $2.4 M (tbc) of IHS Markit Technology consulting in Japan
