Develops and produces various Active Safety devices (Radar, Night Vision, Vision) for automotive applications.
While core development of these sensors is located in USA (MA, CA) or Sweden, Application Engineering for Asian OEM will be based in Japan.
Committed to developing local Engineering capability in Japan for this growing business.
2 Position objectives.
The position is aimed at covering needs for:
• [ Application Engineering ]
o Acquire and analyze software requirements with communicate with customer and core team.
o Design Software, Instruct software code, Conduct software tests.
o Review the software artifacts, which are developed by software team engineer.
o Communicate and work with the engineer in the other site.
o Report the status to software team leader.
o Support project management, system level review and customer review and customer testing, etc.
• [ Prototyping ]
Development of gateways and troubleshooting for prototype systems (demo cars, bench set ups)
• [Software troubleshooting]
o Support the investigation of issue on the validated ECU, the delivered ECU, the Demo car, and the fields return ECU, and so on.
• [Evaluation tools development ]
3.1 Application Engineering.
Each Application program require the development of specific communication interfaces to the vehicle (CAN communication protocol), diagnostic and fault management and tuning of upper level application software to the customer requirements.
The candidate will take responsibility for specifying, developing, validating and tracing these different software releases in line with the OEM specification both for prototype builds (gateways), up to final software release.
This activity shall be conducted in accordance with software development process (AS151).
Specific vehicle prototype builds need to be built in order to demonstrate the performance of the Application to OEMs. The candidate in this position will develop gateway prototypes and software release revisions in order to meet the requirements for each gateway and releases.
3.3 Software troubleshooting.
In case the performance of the system in the vehicle does not meet the customer specification or internal specification, or in case some inadvertent malfunction occurs, the candidate in this position will need to produce proper troubleshooting analyses (FTA, Fish-bone diagram, etc) in order to identify the software factor for the issue, in collaboration with the system engineers and/or the relevant core team. Then he/she shall propose solution measures.
3.4 Validation tools
The candidate will develop specific validation tools in order to be able to evaluate system performance in an effective way: These tools will help link the actual target information to the sensor processed target information in order to highlight system performance.
4 Personal attributes.
The candidate in this position must be keen to build strong communication bridges with abroad development centers and accommodate cultural differences.
The person in this position could potentially be assigned for a fixed term assignment in one of the core/application centres in order to develop his exposure to the Radar, Night Vision, and Vision technology.
The candidate can be flexible and liaise with EU/US despite the time zone difference.
Strong English command required (TOEIC>700)
The candidate must have leadership skill to collaborate effectively with local and global teams.

4.1 Education and Skill Sets
BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experiences.
Experience with embedded programming experience and possess 4+ years of experience in embedded software/firmware development for automotive applications
Experience with Embedded Software development tools such as compilers, linkers & debuggers.
Experience with CAN Communications, CAN Diagnostics (UDS), Fault management, AUTOSAR, BSW, RTE, RTOS, CMMI, A-SPICE preferred.
Thorough knowledge of microprocessor/controllers.
Preferably, experience with the functional safety (ISO26262) design and processes.
4.2 Programming Tools
C/C++ language, Matlab, Simulink.
