In 1999, “coworking” wasn’t a household term, let alone a standard office option. That year, CIC became the first provider of shared office space in Cambridge’s Kendall Square, now known as the most innovative square mile on the planet. The mission was the same then as it is now: to support entrepreneurs in fixing the world through innovation.
Opened its doors in the autumn of 2020, CIC’s first center in Asia was born in Toranomon, Tokyo.
It serves as a space for fast growing startups, venture capitalists, accelerators, academics, support specialists, governmental organizations, corporations, and other innovative individuals and organizations including female and international entrepreneurs, and students with a creative and unique design and function.
We provide high-quality, flexible office and coworking spaces,
as well as stocked community kitchens, unmetered access to conference rooms, enterprise-grade internet services, printing and copying, phones, high-end furniture, operational and technical support, concierge services, perks and wellness offerings, and much more.
Clients have access to hundreds of diverse entrepreneurs, service providers, investors, and mentors, while CIC-supported events draw thousands of innovators from across the global startup community to CIC.
As of 2019, CIC has approximately 1.2M square feet (110K m2) open and in development in nine cities. The company has supported over 6,000 startup and technology companies, and over $8 billion has been invested in companies that began within CIC spaces.
Over the next ten years, CIC plans to grow its network of innovation hubs to create positive impact in 50 leading cities around the world.
