What is Specified Skills Worker visa?

"Specified Skills Worker visa (SSW visa)" is a new status of residence created to encourage foreign nationals to become more active in Japan. There are 14 industries where you can work with the status, and there are two types of residence status: "No.1" and "No.2". No.2 requires more specialized skills.

What are the Requirements to Apply for the Specified Skills Worker Visa?

You will need to pass a Japanese language test (JLPT N4 or higher or JFT-Basic (Japan Foundation Basic Japanese Language Test)) and a skills test for each industry. The details of each skill test are available on the websites of the organizations that administer the tests. The examinations are held in Japan and overseas as needed.

※Technical intern trainees may be exempted from the test.

Test Preparation / Employment Support

We offer test preparation courses (face-to-face and e-learning) for foreigners who want to pass the SSW visa tests. Those who have concerns about their Japanese language skills can also take lessons with professional Japanese language teachers. We can also provide you with employment and visa support after passing the exam!
