Job Description Role:
IT System Admin focused on user desktop support for the company. Full-time regular employee. Reports into a small local IT team. The candidate should be self-sufficient to allow the IT team to focus on investments related work.

Overview and Job Description:
This is an IT desktop support role supporting 50 users locally (90% are Japanese), but there is also a considerable amount of escalation/chasing to US infrastructure teams for deeper issues on Exchange, VMWare, group policy, Active Directory, network, mobile device, video conferencing, etc. We are looking for a proactive all-rounder who can handle a variety of helpdesk style troubleshooting and general desktop support. You will solve those issues to completion mostly solo, so you need to be very hands-on. Occasionally, there may be some special projects requiring more advanced system admin or scripting work. You should be someone who can draw on both experience and also research solutions and best practices from the internet. You should be fluent in English and Japanese, ideally near-native in both.

Typical duties:
1. ID management (network id, email, revocation, password reset, login trouble)
2. Troubleshooting of general software like Microsoft Office, VMWare, Windows
3. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues with a desk phone, corporate iPhone, iPad, multi-function printer, webcam, video conference system, Bloomberg
4. Assisting desktop physical setup such as during desk moves, imaging desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
5. Maintaining IT asset inventory
6. Some assistance to group company users who use a different domain and use global apps with different credentials
7. Filing all request/incident tickets in Cherwell and Service Now and follow up to completion; escalation to various IT teams in the USA
8. Project planning and coordination for migration/decommission work such as Windows 10 upgrade, Cloud-based VM (VDI) migration, including application install and signoff checklists
9. Some purchasing/contract/invoicing support work for IT hardware/software/licenses
10. Documentation and email notifications about major events
11. Conference calls with a global team in the United States and India
12. Occasional support outside of normal business hours
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience with cloud-based VDI - VMWare, Citrix, Cyberark, AWS Workspaces
2. Admin experience with Windows Group Policy, Active Directory, Office365, registry, imaging, iPhone
3. Light Programming - PowerShell, Batch Scripting, VBA
4. Experience in the financial industry
