Job Description The GL Accounting Manager will oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and compliance with audit and tax requirements. This role is based in Tokyo and involves managing monthly reporting, closing processes, and financial controls in the retail industry.


Description

* Manage all general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
* Oversee monthly reporting and ensure timely financial closing processes.
* Ensure compliance with audit and tax requirements, maintaining accurate financial records.
* Support internal control initiatives to enhance financial transparency.
* Prepare and review cash forecasts in collaboration with relevant departments.
* Assist in tax compliance and related documentation.
* Coordinate with auditors and ensure smooth audit processes.
* Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial operations.


Profile

A successful GL Accounting Manager should have:

* Fluency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English.
* Experience in general ledger activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
* Knowledge of monthly reporting, closing processes, and internal controls.
* Familiarity with audit and tax compliance requirements.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Proven ability to work in a fast-paced luxury retail environment in Tokyo.
