Join Rakuten's EC Marketplace Development Department to help build and scale Japan's largest e-commerce platform, Rakuten Ichiba. As a backend engineer, you'll work across the entire development lifecycle to deliver robust, high-performing systems that shape online shopping for millions. Description ・Full-cycle system development: requirements definition, design, coding, testing, and deployment ・Collaborate with Product Managers, upstream/downstream teams, and internal stakeholders ・Monitor system stability and performance; optimize and refactor codebases ・Design, maintain, and evolve system architecture ・Handle troubleshooting and performance tuning in a scalable environment Profile ・5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Java (Spring Framework or Play Framework) ・Proven experience in web-based system development and operation ・Solid understanding of system architecture and scalable backend design ・Team player with strong communication skills to work across departments Job Offer ・Opportunity to work on Japan's largest-scale e-commerce system ・Take part in high-impact projects that directly affect millions of users and merchants ・Collaborative, multicultural engineering environment with access to modern technologies To apply online please click the 'Apply' button below.
