Job Description **Job Description**
The Data Production Department is responsible for satellite operations, image data production, and distribution of data products for our proprietary small SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellites, the "StriX" series.

The Satellite Operation Planning Unit is tasked with creating operation plans for our satellites, generating commands based on those plans, and registering the commands into our satellite control system. The unit also manages data essential for these operations.

**Responsibility**
In this role, as a member of the Data Production Department, you will join the Satellite Operation Planning Unit, which is responsible for developing and operating the Spacecraft Control Subsystem for our small SAR satellite constellation, the "StriX" series. The Spacecraft Control Subsystem is a critical component in ensuring the reliable operation of our satellite constellation.

**Details of Work**
- Develop and maintain the Spacecraft Control Subsystem, which involves creating operation plans, generating commands, and calculating satellite-specific data such as past and future position and velocity.
- Ensure continuous improvement of the subsystem's infrastructure, maintaining and updating it without any disruptions.
- Collaborate with other infrastructure engineers to implement best practices, and support the development and operation of other systems.
- Operate and enhance the system to add and improve functions as needed, ensuring it meets the growing needs of our satellite operations.

**Selling Points of This Role**
- Participate in the maintenance and operation of a critical system that supports the daily operations of our rapidly growing satellite constellation, which currently includes three satellites in orbit and will expand significantly in the near future.
- Play a key role in the core of our business by maintaining the Spacecraft Control Subsystem, which interacts with both our customer-facing data platform and the Data Processing Subsystem that generates SAR products.
- Contribute to the stabilization and efficiency of satellite operations as we scale our constellation, offering opportunities to demonstrate and develop your skills.
Company Info This Company is building a constellation of SAR satellites that will produce hundreds of images of the Earth everyday. We are looking for a radar engineer to develop, implement and evaluate various algorithms for radar data processing, calibration and image quality assurance.
