The core of our business is big data: 16.5 million MAUs/300 million page views, 4.8 million members, 30,000 brands, 370,000 product data, and 18.1 million reviews. With a mission of "updating the world of beauty and making many people happy," since its founding in 1999, iStyle has not only developed services but also created new markets. We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager position in the Commerce System Development Department and Media Development Department. You will be responsible for managing a team within an organization that develops multiple services in the media field, which is an important business in realizing iStyle's mission, and in the e-commerce and retail fields. |

By being involved in the development of a service that boasts one of the largest scales and influences in the industry, you will gain experience in developing large-scale systems and of course get the feeling that you are delivering a service to many users. - A sound database that eliminates fraud A database that is supported by everyone involved in beauty, including manufacturers, distributors, and users. To maintain its integrity, we continue to focus on its quality, and for example, we take the time and effort to eliminate fraud, such as by checking all reviews by human eyes (24/7 manned monitoring). - Technology Culture We have a system to support active learning, such as holding regular internal study sessions, allowing employees to participate in external study sessions as part of their work, and subsidizing participation fees. A culture of information sharing and discussion using Slack is deeply rooted. We have a wide variety of channels for each topic, such as #git, #php, #golang, and #docker, which creates communication that transcends teams. Currently, PHP is the main language, but we are actively introducing various languages and architectures for new developments. We are challenging ourselves with many technologies to solve problems, such as incorporating ADR in addition to MVC, and using Couchbase and Cassandra as databases in addition to languages. We have recently formed a business and capital alliance with Amazon and Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and are working together to strengthen not only our business but also the tech sector. In particular, there are many opportunities to discuss technology and share information with Amazon in the US, providing an environment in which knowledge can be absorbed. - Discretion of development members Basically, the way work is done and the selection of technology are left to each team and member. There are no fixed frameworks, configurations, languages, etc., and selections are made according to the environment and conditions required each time. Each person can use whatever editor, IDE, and other personal environments they like at their own responsibility. Work PCs are also optional. Many employees work fully remotely (come into the office about once a month), and with flextime working hours with no core time, it is possible to maintain a work-life balance. - Well-established work flows and development environment We maintain a high level of testing, and strive to keep coverage at 50% or more for new projects. We are working to improve this by introducing testing to existing projects that do not have test code. We focus on agile development, and many projects involve sprint planning and daily scrums. We also have several certified Scrum Masters within the company. In terms of workflow, essentially all code is managed with a version control tool. Code implemented by each member is merged on a pull request basis. |

Monthly salary: 392,858 yen ~ *Monthly salary includes 45 hours of deemed overtime allowance (45 hours/102,188 yen ~), and if you exceed 45 hours, the excess will be paid. *Determined according to our company regulations, taking into account experience, ability, skills, etc. ■Probationary period: 3 months from joining the company (may be shortened or extended) *No changes to conditions, some special holidays cannot be used. |
