Scout Service

Q1 What is Scout Service?
Scout Service is a service which enables you to post your resume to our Resume Bank anonymously. By doing this, you can receive messages from employers interested in your career. The messages will be sent to your inbox, called “Messages from Employers” within your “My Page”. Your anonymous resume will not contain information that can be used to identify you as an individual. Employers will need to assess your resume based on factors other than your personal information (Most Recent Employer, Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Address, Telephone Number) and send messages to you. Only the employers who have signed an Advertising Contract with Daijob, Inc. can view personal information. If you reply to a Scout Message as “Interested” to an employer, then your personal information will be disclosed to that employer.

Q4 What kinds of companies are participating in Scout Service?
Only the employers that signed an Advertising Contract with Daijob, Inc. and are currently posting, or had been posting until very recently, can view posted resumes and send Scout Messages. To find out the names of each employer, please check the “Company List”, “Recruiter List” and “Haken List”.

Scout Messages

Q5 If a Scout Message was sent to me, what kind of notification will I receive?
When you receive a Scout Message, a notification from Daijob will be sent to your registered email address. To check your message, please login to your “My Page” following the procedure explained in the notification email.
Q6 What should I do when I receive a Scout Message?
If you receive a Message offering a position you are interested in, please reply as “I am interested”. After replying, you will go through the selection procedure of that company or will be invited to register with that recruiter. If you are not interested in the Message you received, you do not need to send a reply (Although you can, if you want to.). If you are unsure, you can also send questions by keeping yourself anonymous.
Q7 No Scout Messages have been sent to me…
The number of Scout Messages sent largely depends on the number of companies that are searching our Resume Bank and the recruiting situations of each company. However, there are some tips that you might like to remember: Quite often, employers look at resumes from the most recently updated ones. Thus, if you are not receiving many Scout Messages, please try updating your resume. Also, employers search resumes by keywords. Thus, including many keywords related to your background and creating a comprehensive resume is recommended.
Q8 How many Scout Messages can I expect?
Employees send you Scout Messages after looking at your anonymous resume. Users from highly demanded industry background may receive many while other users receive none.
Q9 Does receiving a Scout Message mean I am offered a position in that company?
Employers send you Scout Messages because they are interested in your skills and career background. Generally speaking, you have a higher chance of being accepted when applying to a position you have received a Scout Message for. However, this does not mean Scout Messages promise you a job offer. There is still a possibility of being rejected after resume screening or interviews.
Q10 I applied to a company which sent me a Scout Message but got rejected.
Companies using Scout Service send Scout Messages to users who seem to have skills and experiences they are looking for. However, please bear in mind that as the screening process progresses, employers may decide that the applicant does not meet their requirements.

Personal Information

Q11 How does Scout Service deal with my Personal Information?
When you make your resume viewable to employers, information that can identify you as an individual (such as Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Address, Telephone Number) will still be hidden to employers. Such information will not be disclosed to employers without your consent. Your personal information will be disclosed only when you reply to the Message as “I am interested”. Only the employers that signed Advertising Contracts with Daijob, Inc. and are posting or had been posting until very recently themselves can view posted resumes and send Scout Messages. When you set your resume to “Hidden”, your entire resume will be non-viewable to employers through Scout Service.
Q12 How is registered information viewed by companies participating in Scout Service?
Initially, employers using Scout Service see only your information that cannot identify you as an individual. Employers send Scout Messages to users with employment history and skills they are looking for. Companies cannot view your personal information at the point of sending Scout Messages.

Making the best out of Scout Service

Q15 How can I increase the chance of receiving Scout Messages?
Employers run a search of public resumes to find their perfect candidate. The most recently updated resumes will be listed on top of the search results – meaning that those resumes have more chance to be viewed by employers. Employers also search for candidates by using several search fields. The free word search and “Skills” field search are most often used. Thus, including more words that are seen on job advertisements increases the chance of your resume being seen by an employer. Also, when you acquire a new qualification, please update your resume. It will enhance your chance of being scouted.
Q16 Should I update my resume on regular basis?
We recommend that you regularly update your resume. Resumes will be listed in order by when they were last updated. Employers also see recently updated resumes as representing your enthusiasm for finding a new job. Please revise your resume on regular basis and create a resume that is attractive to employers. If, for example, you acquired a new skill after a big project or obtained a new qualification, please do not forget to add these items to your resume. It will increase your chance of being scouted.
