| Job Description | 1. Position Summary Manufacturing Engineers performs various tasks using accepted engineering practices. Manufacturing engineers are responsible for productin equipment and processes, production documentation as well as suppoorting safety and quality activities. The position duties, responsibilities, and objectives can change at any time and are not limited to the items listed herein. Management can adjust duties and activities at any time to support company obkectives. The position may be required to work off hours nad weekends. Travel, domestic and international, may be required. 2. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineers perform tasks related to equipment and facilities used in the manufacturing processes. -Day to day production support -Production process optimization -Creation and maintenance documentation such as PFDs, PFMEAs, MPs, SOPs, VWIs and TWIs. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Sr. Controls Engineer is responsible for control system specification, development, and testing for new and existing automated assembly equipment. The position will also be required to manage projects and train engineers and technicians. The position duties, responsibilities, and objectives can change at any time and are not limited to the items listed herein. This position may be required to work off hours and weekends. Travel, domestic and international, may be required. 2. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Sr. Controls Engineers perform tasks related to equipment used in manufacturing processes. These tasks include, but are not limited to: • Provide high level control systems production support • Work with Manufacturing Engineers on Production process improvement projects. • Assist in the development of training materials for Engineers and Technicians. • Manage electrical projects • Development of assembly equipment controls specifications, participating in the selection of vendors; installation, start up and qualification of new equipment. • Participation in Product Failure or Corrective Action Report (CAR) Investigations. • Contribute and participate in all aspects of the Process Safety Management Program. 4. Environment • These duties require frequent operations in a hazardous environment. Protective equipment outlined in each procedure must be used. • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and explosives. Protective equipment specified for each procedure or processing area must be used. • The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud and requires the use of hearing protection. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 5. Qualifications • BS in Electrical Engineering/Automation controls or equivalent • 10 years related experience in a high volume manufacturing environment. • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills • Ability to design, develop and modify MMI’s • Ability to develop and modify schematics using AutoCAD • Ability to develop, modify and manage Databases Other desirable additional qualifications • MS in Electrical Engineering • Experience with machine vision systems (DVT ,Cognex and Keyence) • Experience with Robot programming • Fluency, oral and written, in Japanese |
