| Job Description | The group where this person will sit is responsible for managing clients’ positions and activities. It supports a wide range of products traded by clients - this includes Securities, Futures, Options, FX, Swap/CD/IRP, Commodities, etc. It provides functionalities to the Operations Group. The group has a presence in NYK, LDN, Tokyo and Bangalore. The global team work quite close together to provide consistent technology solutions to the Operations Group. Tokyo team provides supports for Operations Group in pan Asia, including Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, China, India, Taiwan, etc. Because of the impact our projects have on the strategic architecture and the stringent requirements regulators impose on our applications, key design decisions must be defended with review committees. Role Summary Design and development of applications for the client subledger and financial reporting community. The candidate will be required to gain knowledge of the existing systems and how they fit within the architecture. She or He will be involved in core architecture initiatives (aimed to improve developers’ productivity and the overall quality and stability of the platform) as well as functionally-aligned projects, where we expect the candidate to be able to coach others, apply and promote S/D best practices. Core initiatives tend to be very global in nature and we expect therefore the candidate to interact with our global architect community and, over time, be a contributor to that community. The candidate will have extensive interaction with global architects, senior developers, junior developers, functional analysts, and exposure to our user community. |

| Qualifications | The ideal candidate meets the following: Critical Requirements : · 5+ years of proven experience developing JAVA applications: Excellent knowledge of Java, J2EE technologies, and good knowledge of OO design. · Proven track record of technical leadership in middle-size (5 or more developers) projects, with an emphasis on design, development, coaching, and technical mentorship · Experience with software development (S/D) best practices, such as automated testing, continuous build and change management. · Strong problem solving & analytical skills. · Very hands-on track record and desire to continue to be hands-on. · Ability and willingness to work in an environment that promotes collaborative development and effective communication, both within the group, and with regional counterparts (New York, Bangalore, Tokyo) · Ability to share ownership of the well being of our strategic platforms as well as ability to provide guidance to less experienced developers on S/D best practices. · Ability to fit in an environment that nurtures technical excellence and, over time, ability to contribute with ideas and actions to that same environment. · Ownership of issues to ensure follow-through. · Strong communication skills are essential; the candidate should feel comfortable working with a global group that both welcomes and challenges new ideas.
