Job Description SafeNet, the world’s leading information security provider, is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Japan team. Reporting to the Country Manager, Japan, you will be responsible for creating, developing and executing sales and solution strategies in Japan.

- Create business relationships and generating sales revenue with high-level contacts often through face-to-face and client site visits;
- Maintain an ongoing business relationship with current industry clients to facilitate future sales;
- Develop good connection with OEM’s and SI’s in Japan;
- Ability to understand a broad array of technologies.

This person is required to be technically astute, commercially creative, and should be focused on large opportunities for the company which may require multiple components. This is essentially a sales job which has a longer term horizon than typical ones, and the successful candidate will have that rare ability to visualize an opportunity, identify how to capitalize on that opportunity, and use their own drive, intelligence, and skills to make that opportunity a reality. Persistence, patience, creativity and vision are essential to success in this role. This is a senior position, and requires someone who is comfortable with being measured quantitatively as it relates to business development.
Qualifications - University Degree in Computer Engineering preferred;
- Minimum 10 years’ experience technology industry, ideally several of those years with a security focus;
- Minimum 3-5 years hands on engineering design experience;
- Strong experience in closing business deals that include multiple technologies and form factors (for example, hardware, software, intellectual property, etc);
- Good track record of successfully closing million dollar deals or above;
- Strong business development skills, capable of connecting with top level decision makers favorably;
- Ability to lead a team and provide guidance through best practices;
- Solid business sense along with technical capability;
- Strong communication skills in English and Japanese;
- Ability to motivate and convince others in support of a common goal;
- Ability to see beyond just the technology vision, and to really create and drive a go to market strategy for a solution set;
- Ability to quantify market trends and segmentation, and to likewise articulate appropriate solutions for those segments through a combination of business and technology vision;
- Must be a team player, and collaboratively engage with the sales and sales engineering resources.
